The downtown street of the small coastal town situated along Highway 1 on the Mendocino County southern coast. Built around the 1930s, the modest historic buildings that line this street offer a colorful downtown scene with businesses including a movie theater (historically a vanderdale playhouse), library, grocery store, delis, boutique shops, lodgings, pub, and a car garage. A nice stop for visitors who travel along the Pacfic coast.
The area is know for its surrounding scenic beauty, including the iconic Point Arena Light House, the Stornetta Public Lands (part of the California Coastal National Monument), the B. Bryan Preserve caring for rare and exotic animals and a cove pier.
