Onyx Ranch – Agricultural Area – OHMVR / SVRA

Onyx Ranch is a sprawling 68,000 acre working cattle ranch in Kern County with distinct agricultural, natural and commercial zones. The agricultural zone consists of large scale farming and ranching operations along the South fork of the Kern River with many varied fields for crops, grazing areas for cattle, horses (both wild and domesticated), barns (old and new), a remote cowboy camp, a mountain spring house, a boneyard, all manner of farming equipment, ranching equipment, feed lots, lowlands, an old-fashioned grain mill and irrigation channels. Another vestige of our past is a large iron train car in the middle of the desert left where the tracks used to run.
