Onyx Ranch – Natural Area – OHMVR / SVRA

Onyx Ranch is a sprawling 68,000 acre working cattle ranch in Kern County with distinct agricultural, natural and commercial zones. Although there is much agricultural and commercial activity at Onyx, most of the ranch is wild. Because of our size, the changes in altitude on the property and our rivers, lakes and aquifers there are many different types of natural habitat to chose from including dessert terrain, lowlands, grasslands, African type savannah, high country, barren rocky mountain tops and three different types of forest: cottonwood (one of the largest in CA and protected), high country pine, and Joshua tree. We have many mountain vistas with big open unpopulated views. Our hillsides and mountain faces light up with alpenglow at sunset. The property boarders the Sequoia National Park in two different places.
