The southernmost portion of the MCAS El Toro site approximately 342 acres south of the existing Burlington Northern and Santa Ferailroad tracks which border the base is within the incorporated boundary of the City of Irvine. This area of disused railroad track is Orange County property. The El Toro Great Park property itself has two 10,000 ft. and two 8,000 ft. runways.
